Riserva Vigna le Macchiarelle Brunello di Montalcino

Graceful style for this riserva with its blood-orange, cinnamon and even yellow-fruit characters allied to fresh red berries. Its intoxicating definition is completed on the palate by full body and fruit concentration with almost silky, very ripe tannins, super-refreshing acidity and a vibrant finish. Warming at the end but otherwise outstanding. Drinkable now but best from 2026.

Ripe, round and generous, this red evokes cherry, raspberry, menthol, mineral and sweet spice flavors. Turns leaner and more structured while winding down on the finish. Overall, this shows fine balance and a sinewy finish. Best from 2028 through 2045. 650 cases made, 100 cases imported.

This red has everything -- ripe cherry, blackberry and plum fruit, leather, autumn wood, licorice and mineral flavors as well as fine structure and intensity -- and all in the right proportions. Bright, balanced and long, with a chalky sensation around the gums from the well-integrated tannins. Best from 2025 through 2045. 650 cases made, 25 cases imported.
